I have scoliosis since 10 years old, so I came here in 2016 for some resolution to my back pain, thankfully I came and Dr Choo attended to my issues. Since then, I have been visiting family chiropractic for regular monthly maintenance with Dr Mark, and it has been wonderful.

I’ve been coming here for chiropractic sessions for about 3 years now, and the experience has always been excellent. Dr Chong is very attentive and detailed when it comes to understanding my body issues. She always listens carefully and adjusts the treatment according to what I need at each visit. Every time I come for a session, I feeling incredibly relaxed, and the tension and pressure in my body are significantly relieved. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and professional chiro. ?

My friend recommended me this clinic which is at near to where I stay as I have a relapse of slip disc. I use to visit another doctor but decided to give this clinic a try and I am glad I did. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. As for the doctor, don’t judge by her build. She is really skillful and knowledgeable. Attempting different techniques to relief the pain. Now I come back every month to release the tension. Neighborhood pricing with 5 star treatment / equipment. Thank you Family Chiropractic!! Kudos to Dr Choo and staffs for your care to my family.

Snacks That Are Guaranteed To Improve Your Mood

Snacks That Are Guaranteed To Improve Your Mood

To tone up and get fit, workout and diet need to go hand in hand. But diet doesn’t mean eating as little as possible. Actually it means adapting healthier recipes for you breakfast, lunch and dinner plus consciously choosing better snacks to munch on in between.

Yes, you read that right, you’re allowed to have snacks! Provided that you’re not eating junk! But aside from the physical factor, did you know that the right snacks can also help boost your mood? This is the reason why you should really be more conscious of what you feed your body because while some snacks can help, there are also those that can mess up not just your fitness goals but also other aspects of your health like your mood.

Chiropractic care may be focused on the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine but chiropractors understands that patients are so much more than just spine. This is why they always say that they aim not just to relieve pain but to improve your overall health which when done right also keep you looking and feeling young. In order to achieve that, you need to feed your body healthy foods that contain vitamins and nutrients. So here are some of the snacks that you’d want to stick to if you’re trying to cheer yourself up.

Dark Chocolate

If you’re the type who go for sweets when feeling down and chocolate is what you usually grab for sweets, opting for dark ones is the way to go. Dark chocolate stimulates the production of endorphins, which are mood-enhancing chemicals in the brain. It also contains the chemical serotonin, which acts as an antidepressant.

Aside from that, they aren’t as loaded with sugar and calories but they’re just as good. Plus they’re rich in antioxidants, so it’s a win-win, though moderation is still key.

Pop Corn

Popcorn isn’t just a movie snack. It can also be a mood-booster one! Popcorn is rich in the amino acid tryptophan which helps your body to produce serotonin, aka a neurotransmitter that increases your mood. So for best results, maybe watch that rom-com movie that never fail to make you laugh and snack on popcorns while you’re at it!

Banana

When it comes to healthy snacks, bananas are truly a bargain. They’re packed with vitamins B6, A and C, fiber, tryptophan, potassium, phosphorous, iron, protein and healthy carbohydrates which is a combination that works to boost your mood!

Aside from that, they lower blood pressure and reduces risk of cancer and asthma!

Nuts

Almonds, cashew and walnuts are not only filling and tasty snacks but also comes with comes with a lot of health benefits like improving hair growth and hair thickening as well as boost serotonin levels that directly influence your mood. Just make sure to watch your portion sizes because nuts are high in calories too, so you may wanna keep yourself from finishing a whole bag of them in one sitting.

If you’re notorious to not being able to stop snacking until you’ve finished a bag, look for ways to have it in your diet without needing to buy packets of nuts. You can try going for whole grain bread with a nut spread.

Avocado

Avocado is known for being high in vitamin B which aids in metabolizing healthy carbohydrates and proteins. Moreover, Avocados also contain healthy fats that are known for raising the levels of dopamine and increasing endorphins, both of which put you in a good mood.

If you’re not a fan of eating avocados on its own, you can always go for avocado toasts, guacamole, or mix it in your salads.

Tea

This drink is like the holy grail of drinks next to water. It’s not only calories-free, but is also full of antioxidants, improves cardiovascular health, decreases inflammation, and controls hunger pangs while hydrating your system. But if that’s not impressive enough, this drink can also help calm your mind! You have more reasons to enjoy afternoon teas more frequently now!

Coconut

Medium-chain triglycerides are types of fat that can be found in coconut which our brain uses right away when consumed. What it does is that it prevents any sugar drops which also prevents mood drops. So don’t just drink the juice and waste the coconut meat. Snack on that too or you can also go for coconut chips if it is hard to find the fruit in your area.

A lot of dieters try to cut back all kinds of different foods that they deem unhealthy especially carbs. They think that it will make them gain pounds. This results to an unbalanced nutrition which affects mood and cognitive clarity. Carbs, in moderation and healthy alternatives, is definitely not a villain in your weight loss goal.   In fact, you should only limit bad carbs as much as possible and eat the right carbs to give your body fuel to power through the day or through an intense workout. Stick to fruits, vegetables, and small doses of whole grains if you hope to maximize fat loss to get your much needed daily dose of healthy carbs. It’s also important to remember that snacks aren’t your enemy as long as you choose them well. Sure there are times when you just need your donuts or favorite fast-food item to feel better. But don’t make it a habit to eat them all the time. Make a conscious effort to replace them with healthier alternatives when you need a light snack or want an instant mood-booster!
