I have scoliosis since 10 years old, so I came here in 2016 for some resolution to my back pain, thankfully I came and Dr Choo attended to my issues. Since then, I have been visiting family chiropractic for regular monthly maintenance with Dr Mark, and it has been wonderful.

I’ve been coming here for chiropractic sessions for about 3 years now, and the experience has always been excellent. Dr Chong is very attentive and detailed when it comes to understanding my body issues. She always listens carefully and adjusts the treatment according to what I need at each visit. Every time I come for a session, I feeling incredibly relaxed, and the tension and pressure in my body are significantly relieved. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and professional chiro. ?

My friend recommended me this clinic which is at near to where I stay as I have a relapse of slip disc. I use to visit another doctor but decided to give this clinic a try and I am glad I did. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. As for the doctor, don’t judge by her build. She is really skillful and knowledgeable. Attempting different techniques to relief the pain. Now I come back every month to release the tension. Neighborhood pricing with 5 star treatment / equipment. Thank you Family Chiropractic!! Kudos to Dr Choo and staffs for your care to my family.

The Most Pervasive Diet Rumors You Need To Stop Following

With all the diet hacks and tips circulating online and given out by people around you, you’d wonder why losing weight is such a struggle. We should be all experts and thin right now, right? Well, not really. Because not every information you’re probably getting and following is not accurate which is just causing you to gain even more pounds. Here are some of those diet myths that could be ruining your fitness efforts!

You Don’t Have To Worry About What You Eat As Long As You Go To The Gym

This may make sense to you but the truth is, you cannot out-exercise a bad diet. Sure working out can burn a lot of calories, but an hour you spend on the gym goes out the window the minute you consume 2 slices of pizza. So unless you plan on spending half your day in the gym, you cannot rely on exercising alone for weight loss.

You’ll Burn More Fat If You Don’t Eat Anything Before Working Out

It’s hard to get through a workout if your stomach is grumbling. However, it’s not a good idea to get a full on meal before heading to the gym either. Having said that, always keep in mind that it’s important to eat at least 2 hours before you work out to avoid unwanted protein loss and maintain glucose level. Just as eating at least 2 hours prior to exercising, munching on something after you sweat it out is crucial too! Of course, you got tired and maybe felt a little hungry after an intense workout but be careful not to dig into the first food you see. A good recovery food should be a protein-rich meal within half an hour of the workout. You need those carbs post-workout. Just remember that those calories count. You absolutely do want to refuel post-workout, just don’t consume another 400 calories in the process. Don’t go overboard and stick with filling snacks that don’t come with too many calories.

Calorie Is Calorie

We are continually told that the only thing that matters for fat loss is that we eat fewer calories than we burn. While it’s true that fat loss requires us to create an energy deficit, it’s actually the way you create that energy deficit that makes a big difference. You’ll get more mileage for the calories provided in a meal that contains steak and collard greens than you would from the same number of calories from granola and banana.

The bottom line is that you should never cut calories below your resting metabolic rate because this will produce a metabolic slowdown. Eat plenty of protein, vegetable, healthy fats, and be as active as possible and you should be able to naturally eat fewer calories than you consume without any conscious struggle.

Nighttime Snacking Makes You Gain Weight

You’ve probably heard this more than you’d like or been told this many time before, especially if you’re the type of person you like to munch something late at night. Although that’s not entirely wrong, it’s still pretty inaccurate.

What you should avoid is eating a heavy meal too close to bedtime because it may make it difficult for you to fall asleep. However, nibbling on a light snack that’s still within your daily calorie intake is totally fine.

Binge Eating On Healthy Food Is Okay

While drastic calorie cutting is not a really sustainable and healthy way to lose weight let alone provide nutrition for your body. There are people who assume that as long as you only eat healthy foods, you can get away with eating a lot of it. Yes, this generally means you have a better chance of decreasing your calorie intake naturally but you still have to watch how much you eat, otherwise you’d still gain weight.

Remember that snacking a lot, even if you’re consuming healthy snacks, can still lead to weight gain which causes a lot of other health problems, especially if you do not do it in moderation. While being healthy doesn’t mean you have to be thin, weight gain should still be monitored. So instead of constantly trying to deprive your body of foods, try focusing on providing necessary nutrients for your body. Aside from that, you also have to adapt a healthy and regular eating pattern to avoid messing up with your metabolism. This is why chiropractic care aims to treat the body on a holistic level, meaning its goal is to not only provide immediate relief from issues such as back pain but to help the body heal and manage itself from the inside out, so it’s less likely to face other health issues such as weight gain.

Drinking 8 Glasses Of Water Guarantees Weight Loss

People may think that this is counterintuitive because it’s often the water weight that makes you look bloated. However, drinking an adequate amount of water helps suppress your appetite so you’re less likely to overeat. Aside from that hydration is important for your kidney to function properly which helps you easily burn the fat that you consume. Having said that, just because you religiously chug 8 glasses of water every day doesn’t mean you’ll lose excess weight for sure. It’s a good habit but you still need to maintain a healthy diet and consistent exercising to guarantee permanent weight loss.

Chiropractors in Singapore now incorporate weight loss, nutrition, and exercise counseling into their treatments because losing weight won’t just reduce back pain and other musculoskeletal symptoms, it will slash your risk of a number of medical conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. So remember, it’s not just about the numbers you see on the scales so don’t just aim to be thin, you should instead work towards improving your overall health and you’ll see how everything just falls into place including your weight.
