I have scoliosis since 10 years old, so I came here in 2016 for some resolution to my back pain, thankfully I came and Dr Choo attended to my issues. Since then, I have been visiting family chiropractic for regular monthly maintenance with Dr Mark, and it has been wonderful.

I’ve been coming here for chiropractic sessions for about 3 years now, and the experience has always been excellent. Dr Chong is very attentive and detailed when it comes to understanding my body issues. She always listens carefully and adjusts the treatment according to what I need at each visit. Every time I come for a session, I feeling incredibly relaxed, and the tension and pressure in my body are significantly relieved. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and professional chiro. ?

My friend recommended me this clinic which is at near to where I stay as I have a relapse of slip disc. I use to visit another doctor but decided to give this clinic a try and I am glad I did. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. As for the doctor, don’t judge by her build. She is really skillful and knowledgeable. Attempting different techniques to relief the pain. Now I come back every month to release the tension. Neighborhood pricing with 5 star treatment / equipment. Thank you Family Chiropractic!! Kudos to Dr Choo and staffs for your care to my family.

How Chiropractic Can Help Shoulder Pain

How Chiropractic Can Help Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain is a common complaint affecting people of all ages and lifestyles. Whether it stems from poor posture, injury, or overuse, shoulder discomfort can significantly limit your range of motion and quality of life. Understanding the root causes of shoulder pain and exploring effective treatments like chiropractic can help you find long-term relief and restore full function.

Common Causes of Shoulder Pain

The shoulder is one of the most complex and mobile joints in the human body. Its wide range of motion makes it

vulnerable to various injuries and conditions. Some of the most common causes of shoulder pain include:

  • Rotator cuff injuries: Tears, strains, or inflammation in the muscles and tendons stabilizing the shoulder joint.
  • Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis): A condition that limits mobility due to thickened joint capsules.
  • Shoulder impingement:when the rotator cuff tendons compressed or irritated as they rub against the surrounding bones
  • Postural strain: Often caused by poor ergonomics or prolonged sitting, especially with forward head posture.
  • Arthritis: Degenerative changes in the shoulder joint causing pain and stiffness.

How Chiropractic Care Can Help

Chiropractic interventions offer a non-invasive, drug-free approach to managing shoulder pain. Chiropractors are trained to assess musculoskeletal issues and can identify misalignments or dysfunctions contributing to shoulder discomfort.

Here are a few chiropractic techniques commonly used to treat shoulder pain:

1. Spinal and Shoulder Adjustments

Some shoulder issues are linked to spinal misalignments, especially in the upper cervical, thoracic spine and shoulder blade. By correcting these, chiropractors can relieve pressure on nerves and improve biomechanics. Gentle adjustments to the shoulder joint can also help restore proper alignment and mobility.

2. Soft Tissue Therapy

Chiropractors often use manual techniques like myofascial release and trigger point therapy to reduce muscle tension and inflammation around the shoulder.

3. Rehabilitative Exercises

A tailored exercise program helps strengthen the shoulder muscles, improve posture and support long-term recovery. Chiropractors guide patients through exercises designed to improve stability and flexibility without aggravating the condition.

4. Postural and Ergonomic Advice

Poor posture is a frequent contributor to shoulder pain. Chiropractors assess your daily habits and offer personalized advice on desktop setup, sleeping positions and activity modifications to prevent future issues.

5. Electrotherapy

TENS or shockwave therapies have proven to be effective with conditions involving rotator cuff injuries and shoulder impingement syndromes

When to See a Chiropractor for Shoulder Pain

If you’re experiencing persistent shoulder pain, limited mobility, or weakness, it’s time to seek professional help.

Chiropractic care is particularly beneficial for:

  • Pain that doesn’t improve with rest or over-the-counter medications
  • Discomfort radiating from the neck into the shoulder
  • Recurrent strains or postural-related aches

Final Thoughts

Shoulder pain can be more than just a nuisance – it can interfere with daily life and physical performance. Chiropractic care offers a safe, effective and holistic solution to address the root cause of shoulder discomfort. By restoring proper alignment, reducing muscle tension, and supporting mobility, chiropractors play a vital role in helping patients move pain-free again.
