I have scoliosis since 10 years old, so I came here in 2016 for some resolution to my back pain, thankfully I came and Dr Choo attended to my issues. Since then, I have been visiting family chiropractic for regular monthly maintenance with Dr Mark, and it has been wonderful.

I’ve been coming here for chiropractic sessions for about 3 years now, and the experience has always been excellent. Dr Chong is very attentive and detailed when it comes to understanding my body issues. She always listens carefully and adjusts the treatment according to what I need at each visit. Every time I come for a session, I feeling incredibly relaxed, and the tension and pressure in my body are significantly relieved. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and professional chiro. ?

My friend recommended me this clinic which is at near to where I stay as I have a relapse of slip disc. I use to visit another doctor but decided to give this clinic a try and I am glad I did. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. As for the doctor, don’t judge by her build. She is really skillful and knowledgeable. Attempting different techniques to relief the pain. Now I come back every month to release the tension. Neighborhood pricing with 5 star treatment / equipment. Thank you Family Chiropractic!! Kudos to Dr Choo and staffs for your care to my family.

Causes Of Upper Back Pain And How Chiropractic Care Can Help

Causes Of Upper Back Pain And How Chiropractic Care Can Help

Lower back pain is a popular form of back pain that you often hear people are dealing with. In fact, half of all the 1.7 billion people suffering from musculoskeletal conditions are lower back pain cases which put it on top of cause of disability worldwide. But aside from that, upper back pain is also one that a lot of individuals struggle with.

Given this fact, whether you belong in that statistic or not, chiropractic care should be a part of your health regimen.  Not only because it treats the condition but also because it can prevent it from happening in the first place. Upper back pain is serious, don’t take it for granted if there’s an available help that you can get. But before that, it would help to know what’s causing your pain first so you can make adjustments in your lifestyle to help make your treatment become more effective and your recovery goes faster.

Poor Posture

Do you always find yourself trying to rub your shoulders and upper back to kind of relieve tension?  That could be a sign of having poor posture since poor one puts a lot of strain on the affected muscle, ligaments and joints. Being on a bad position all the time, like leaning on your right side often when working in front of a computer every day, forces body parts like the back, neck, and shoulders to carry more unnecessary weight that they wouldn’t have to if you were in an ideal posture. This habit causes pain all the time.

Improper Lifting

People tend to underestimate how heavy something is so they pick it mindlessly and don’t exercises proper way of lifting things. Whether you’re certain that the load is light or not, just assume it’s heavy to make sure you lift it properly. Make sure to bend your hips and knees to squat down to your load, keep it close to your body and straighten your legs to lift. Do not twist or turn when holding or lifting heavy objects. Learning how to lift and handle heavy loads can help prevent injury and avoid back pain.

Carrying Heavy Backpack

We’ve been told that backpacks are better alternatives than shoulder bags because it helps distribute the weight evenly to your body. But even a backpack can lead to upper back pain if it’s too heavy. A very heavy backpack, though carried by both shoulders, is making you lean forward since the weight is pulling you back. These position result to unnatural compression/contortion of the spine which then causes upper back pain.

Trauma/Injury

If you play sports, you probably understand how prone you can be to injuries which can cause chronic upper back pains. Even accidents like car crash or falling from a tree can put you in a state that requires you to be in a bad position all day resulting to muscular pain.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis can gradually weaken your bones, making them more likely to fracture and less likely to carry your weight well. If you have osteoporosis in your thoracic spine, you may develop upper back pain. Weakened vertebrae don’t support your body’s weight as well, so your muscles, ligaments, and tendons have to work harder to make up for the vertebrae.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors in Singapore are aware how fast-paced life is in the Lion City which often results to people suffering from back pain. But then there are those that never go away because of an underlying condition. The good news is that through spinal manipulation, the pain can be relieved, it also gets to the root cause of the problem, and prevents it from coming back. Therefore, you no longer have to live with pain relying on pain killers that just numbs the pain without actually treating the problem itself.
