I have scoliosis since 10 years old, so I came here in 2016 for some resolution to my back pain, thankfully I came and Dr Choo attended to my issues. Since then, I have been visiting family chiropractic for regular monthly maintenance with Dr Mark, and it has been wonderful.

I’ve been coming here for chiropractic sessions for about 3 years now, and the experience has always been excellent. Dr Chong is very attentive and detailed when it comes to understanding my body issues. She always listens carefully and adjusts the treatment according to what I need at each visit. Every time I come for a session, I feeling incredibly relaxed, and the tension and pressure in my body are significantly relieved. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and professional chiro. ?

My friend recommended me this clinic which is at near to where I stay as I have a relapse of slip disc. I use to visit another doctor but decided to give this clinic a try and I am glad I did. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. As for the doctor, don’t judge by her build. She is really skillful and knowledgeable. Attempting different techniques to relief the pain. Now I come back every month to release the tension. Neighborhood pricing with 5 star treatment / equipment. Thank you Family Chiropractic!! Kudos to Dr Choo and staffs for your care to my family.

7 Things You Can Do To Relieve Headaches

7 Things You Can Do To Relieve Headaches

Headaches are often brushed off since we tend to just power through them. But frequent headaches may not only be a slight discomfort but can also be completely a nuisance. So the less you experience them, the better not just for you but for everyone else. The problem is, people hardly ever seek medical attention for headaches unless they become incapacitated with it. As a result, it can be hard to manage. Long-term solution may take some time before you figure out what works for you. But there are some things that you can also do to somehow relieve the pain especially if you need to right away.

Sit Less And Move More

Moving around may be the last thing on your mind when you’re in pain, but it is important to get physically active or the pain will last longer! Sitting around all the time only aggravates the problem. Doing even some light exercises increases blood flow and can boost endorphins which helps soothe headaches.

Take Pain Medication

Pain meds are convenient and pay off right away. The problem with this is that they often lead to dependence or you’re body get used to it that it stops working so you end up seeking either higher dosage or other stronger pills. It may give you immediate relief to pain, but the result of longtime use could be greater pain. It could even cause worse headaches. This is why they’re not recommended for frequent and long-term use.

Chiropractic Care

There are some therapies that proved to have helped ease the pain, it’s just important to keep looking for a treatment that works best for you. But probably the safest, surest way to migraine relief is to seek chiropractic care because it’s a great alternative treatment that doesn’t involve drugs or surgery to eliminate the pain but is effective in improving your overall health.

Avoid Foods And Drinks That Trigger Headaches For You

Did you know that certain foods and drinks can cause headaches? Coffee, alcoholic drinks, cheese, and processed meats are just some of the known headache triggers. So you can try eliminating or limiting your intake of them one by one and see which one provides improvement. One the same note, if you’re already having a headache, you can avoid aggravating it by avoiding these types of foods and drinks. You can look up foods and drinks that contain tyramine, MSG, caffeine, and nitrites as they are the chemicals that have been found as headache triggers.

Drink Water

Did you know that dehydration causes headaches? So don’t wait until you’re thirsty before drinking water. Keep your body hydrated with water not with other drinks since only water can replenish loss fluid in your body.

Sleep

Tiredness, in any form, can cause headaches. Resting even by closing your eyes and relaxing in a quiet place often eases the tension right away. This is the easiest you can do if you’re outside and things like pills and water aren’t accessible at the moment. If you’re at home better if you can take a nap to really eliminate the pain and you’ll find that you’ll wake up feeling better.

Try Warm Or Cold Compress

If your headache is due to tight muscles around your neck area and upper back, applying warm compress helps relieve your pain since this will loosen up those muscles. If it’s the high temperature, especially during summer seasons, that’s triggering the pain, an ice pack on your neck may help as it cools your body down.

Try all these methods and see what works for you. Some of them may only work on certain situations just like the warm and cold compress. That’s because they’re meant as a quick relief only. But if you’re starting to notice that your pain has gone from tolerable to debilitating (you start missing work because of it), it comes with other symptoms like nausea and vomiting, pain lasts for hours and even days and pills that you take to relieve it no longer works, time to consider that it may no longer be a simple headache but a migraine. If this is the case, you should really take it seriously and start seeking long-term solution.
